This past June 30, 2023, Step Above Stigma’s founder, Ampai Thammachack, was honoured as a recipient of this year’s Diana Award.
Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales and her belief that young people have the power to change the world, The Diana Award is the most prestigious accolade a young person aged 9-25 years can receive for their social action or humanitarian work.
As described by the Charity, the “Diana Award recipients represent some of the most inspirational young people from across the UK and around the world. These exceptional young people have demonstrated their ability to inspire and mobilize new generations to serve their communities and create long-lasting change on a global scale.”
The award ceremony took place virtually and featured recorded speeches from HRH, the Prince of Wales and HRH, the Duke of Sussex as well as Cel Spellman, actor and presenter, and Tessy Ojo Cbe, CEO of the Diana Award.
